Presiding Bishop Tony Hash, OSB, celebrated the Chrism mass with all the priests of the Church, concelebrating on the last day of the General Synod. The Chrism Mass, typically held on Holy Thursday, was instead offered during the Synod to encourage greater participation among the Priests of the diocese. The mass served as a moment of renewal and blessing for the clergy.
During the Chrism Mass, the Oils of the sick, the catechumens, and the Sacred Chrism were blessed. These Holy Oils are rooted in the Old Testament and are used now in the Sacraments of Baptism, Anointing the Sick, and Ordination.
UACC Clergy needing a set of Holy Oils for their ministry may contact the Presiding Bishop.
